The first stage of the police fitness test is the 15m bleep test, this involves running between 2 points, measuring 15m, to the sound of a bleep. A CD player is used in order to play the bleep. The test is started by the sound of a bleep and then the candidates are required to reach the other point, 15 metres away, before the sound of the next bleep. As the CD progresses it slowly increases in difficulty, the bleeps slowly get closer together.
If you fail to reach the line in time of the bleep 3 times consecutively then you will be removed from the test, however if you reach the line twice and then make it in time the third time the warnings are reset and removed. You also cannot run around the point in a circle, if you do then the examiner
