The United States' Congressional Research Service defines a ‘mass shooting’ as a shooting in which four or more people, not including the shooter, are randomly chosen and killed(___). In America, the 153 mass shootings, since 1950, have occurred in a place where civilians are banned from carrying firearms. This data shows that even with the strict gun laws, people will still find a way to use guns(___). In august 2016 alone, the city of Chicago reported 92 homicides, the majority of which a gun was used. Chicago has more homicides than New York and LA combined despite the city's strict rules.
