122 Cottage Dr.-Personal Narrative

Improved Essays
The house at 122 Cottage Dr. was hidden by so many trees it was hard to see the chipped siding and faded paint. If it wasn’t for the neighbors to the right, the house would have been completely isolated. 122 Cottage Dr. belonged to the Pitchler family. The Pitchler’s were a nuclear family with a mom, dad, and one daughter. They didn’t have all the money in the world, but they did everything they could to survive and make their little girl Amanda’s wishes come true. Amanda’s 9th birthday was in a few days, and she was about to get the surprise of her life.

Amanda and her mother sat at the small wooden table located in their dining room. Amanda’s mother wanted to know what Amanda would like for her birthday. Amanda tells her mom about an advertisement

In her room she has a twin sized bed, a big wooden dresser that stands a few feet in-front of the bed, and her walls are painted a baby pink. Amanda puts her precious new doll onto her dresser. As amanda crawls into bed a loud crack of lighting comes from the dark world outside. As Amanda thinks about her fun week ahead, she drifts off to sleep.

CRACK! Amanda is woken up by the sound of thunder. She slowly sits up and is facing her dresser. She watches as her dolls head moves side to side, scanning the room. Amanda feels a rush of fear and excitement. Her first thought is that the doll has come to life through magic or someone from a past life has been reincarnated into the doll. She decides to go back to sleep and keep it a secret. She was hoping her imagination wasn’t getting ahead of her.

The next thing Amanda knows is that she is being lead out of her room by a man while being carried by a woman. She instantly screams for help. The neighbors hear the scream and go outside to see what is going on. The scream sounded as if Alice had just fallen down the rabbit hole. When they go outside they see a tall man heading towards a van and a petite woman is carrying Amanda out of the Pitchler’s home. Luckily, Amanda’s neighbor is a cop, so he quickly tackles the man. Before he can get Amanda from the woman, the woman is already speeding off in the rusty white van. The neighbors quickly call the police for
