I struggled throughout my adolescence to maintain some kind of normalcy; and despite my parents’ attempts to see my perspective they were simply at a loss. I became a leader at LHGH because I wanted to help teenagers to know there are people who have been where they are and felt how they feel, people who have managed to come out of the terrible teenage years better. To help them to have hope for their futures. I started mentoring and counseling with LHGH because I wanted to be of service to a group of individuals that I felt impassioned to stand beside. That group helped me to see where I want to be in my life and what I want to spend my life in service of. I want to be able to help as many young adults and teens as I can to know they do not have to turn to drugs, alcohol, cutting or any other number of devices to deal with their pain. That they can learn the skills to cope with hard lives and that they can be the amazing individuals they were created to
