115th Street Research Paper

I grow up on 115th Street in Olathe Kansas. This is not the only street I have lived on but this is the only one I can really remember. I moved here from Plano Texas when I was three years old, I don’t have many memories of my old house and none of my old street but I have a lot of memories of my street and house here in Olathe. 115th street was where I grew up and the only place I can truly call home. This is where I learned to ride a bike and where I made some great memories and even better friends. When I was younger my friends and I would spend all day outside no matter what the weather was like. In the winter we would play in the snow making snowmen and having snow ball fights that would last the entire day. I remember one night after a boy scout meeting at my house me and the other guys decided to have a snow ball fight and I had thought it would be a good idea to go out there in shorts and a tee-shirt. My friends and I would run around and play pretend, pretending we were having battles and just being kids and having fun. One day we decided it would be fun to build a fort to play in, we spent months finding random boards and other materials from around the field to build it out of. Building it was probably more fun than we would have had playing in it but we never got to find out. A couple of weeks before it was going to be done a construction crew came in and leveled the field to make it ready to build. My friends and I were devastated we had worked so hard to make that fort and in one weekend it had been torn down. We eventually got over it but it was still really frustrating, what made it worse was that they didn’t even start constructing the assisted living facility until over a year
