11-22-63 by stephen king is a sci fi look into history, exploring what could have happened on that tragic day, when our 35th president of the united states was assassinated by lee harvey oswald. our story begins with jake, who has just learned that the local diner has a portal that can them back to exactly september 9,1958, 11:58, meeting a strange fellow that al calls the yellow card man, because of his yellow card. this is when al tells him that he has been trying to stop the assassination of JFK, but he is dieing because he has spent too much time in the past .Jake is intrigued, he remembers the story of harry, a student turned friend whose dad killed his whole family besides him on halloween of 1958, mentally scarring him.he manages to do it, But in saving his friend, he changed the past, killing him in vietnam because he had a stable mental …show more content…
While jake is learning all this, al kills himself, sending jake into panic, and back through the portal, where the yellow card man has slit his throat, and his card is now black. In rage he kills a hunter about to kill a little girl. Now, jake has started trying to fit into his time period, waiting for lee. The story then moves to him building a relationship with a women, sadie dunhill, who at first he attempts to hide his secret, failing while mentioning song lyrics from song that aren't out yet, moving as far as predicting the cuban missile crisis before revealing his secret.tho he lies a good bit, he also saves her from overdose and a super crazy ex, before she decides to help jake with his plot. Thru mauch stalking it is finally the day, and the plan is simple, they muct get to the place of the shooting,and kill lee before he does the crime. He get their, seconds before that fatal shot, he shoots, missing but also throwing off lee, who turns, fires, and kills sadie, who at this point is engaged to jake. Lee is then killed by outside fire, and jake is almost done the same, thought to be an
