If an organism has brain damage, heart failure, nausea, vomiting, hyper activity and central nervous system failure, these are symptoms that 1080 possibly could have been consumed. The death of the organism normally takes about 1 to 24 hours but it also depends on the dosage and how much has been consumed. The organisms face an inhumane death which is a reason for opposition because the animal deteriorates over a period of time. Although 1080 is soluble in water it means that it decomposes in wet and moist environments. 1080 can stay in a dead animals bones and tissue long after its dead and decomposes this means that there are chances that another animal can get secondary poisoning as it was mentioned before. The main people who oppose the use of 1080 are mainly farmers and hunters. Peter Salter who has had 40 years’ experience from possum trapping, venison hunting and working with tourists for 30 years, says that he has witnessed first-hand the disgust of tourists when they discover that we use this poison. People like Peter and other hunters and farmers who occupy their time outside in the environment and are directly affected because the use of 1080 can interfere with their daily activities and jobs. It can affect activities such as tramping, hunting and tramping as these are common recreational activities in our country. It is disappointing if individuals and groups cannot gain access and are threatened by the poison. A reason why hunters and farmers stand against 1080 is because it’s effecting wild deer population. A 1080 operation that took place in the South of Dunedin showed that there was a 75% decrease of the number of wild deer after an 1080 aerial …show more content…
A drawback from this is that with 1080 lurking on our land, there has been a decrease in deer numbers overall which makes hunting difficult as there are no deers to hunt and leaving farmers and hunters with no work. Another social implication of 1080 is that there is a risk to pet owners and the public especially to those who own dogs. 1080 is highly lethal to dogs and there have been a number of events where dogs have swallowed 1080 pellets and baits resulting in death through secondary poisoning by feeding on possum carcasses as well. On the West Coast there are warning signs saying that baits or carcasses are deadly to

If small amounts of the poison is ingested and does not kill the possum, it can be broken down by the possums metabolism between 1-4 days. The poison will then be excreted and the possum will recover. As a result of this the possum can become ‘bait shy’ towards future 1080 baits and refuse to take to the bait in the future…

It has come to my knowledge that there is a limited amount of spots in the ENG 102 class for next semester. I am one of the best candidates to continue into ENG 102 and thrive in Ms. Laduca’s learning environment. Although I do not fear that I have not already earned my spot, I will proceed to justify my case. I have been an adroit student of Ms. LaDuca’s for the last year and a half; she knows exactly what kind of student I am. Since seventh grade, I have been an ebullient honors student in the top ten percent of the 2016 cohort and have not received any grades lower than an A. I always exceed expectations, put in 110% of my effort, and achieve and maintain excellent grades at the same time.…

That happens to many people in a year; there were 1.23 million car accidents involving deer and vehicles between July 2, 2011 and June 30, 2012. Many people think deer hunting should be illegal, but they don’t think about all the car wrecks that happen due to the deer, how much crops they eat from farm land, also how much landscaping they destroy from bucks making rubs and scrapes, they destroy a lot of fences, and how people use…

Since the dawn of time, humans have practiced the right to hunt whitetail deer to control the deer’s population growth rate. However, animal rights groups and pacifists alike are trying to take that right away from the American people. Not only does hunting have an enormous impact on the American lifestyle, but also gives the common people (including myself) a chance to observe and help maintain the wildlife and its environment. Recently, those opposed to this idea have started to conduct experiments on new, alternative ways of controlling the deer population. These new, alternative methods have been proven to be inefficient and to only work in enclosed areas.…

Learning is not something you can obtain from just reading books or even searching on the internet, learning is so much more than that it is a tool, a song, or even a movement, it is taking in the world around you and college is simply preparing us to be able to learn by teaching us how to learn. When I started EXP 105 I had no idea what to say about learning and what it meant all I could really say about learning was "it is a weapon that we use to take this world day by day". I now see that this class was not just a step closer to a degree because I now know a lot more about learning and how it actually starts with myself. EXP 105 has obviously changed my point of view of learning I mean I could I try to understand this world and not know hardly anything about myself.…

Deer breed quickly and have been known to double in population during just one year; they can live to be more than ten years old. Deer can also cause damage to gardens and farms, attack humans and other animals, including family pets, and are a danger to those driving. Deer and other hunted animals can carry perilous diseases and ticks that may cause nasty and infectious diseases for humans, such as Lyme disease, causing many to feel that hunting is required to protect the general…

Senior Year My greatest memory so far in my eighteen years of being on this earth is without a doubt my senior year of high school. It was absolutely unforgettable. My senior year as a whole (which was just last year) was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life and the happiest I have ever been.
