100 Year's War Research Paper

The 100 year's war, was a war between the French and then English. They were fighting over each other's lands. Though many peace treaties were signed and broken, the 100 Year's War was an important part of the middle ages. It was one of the causes for the liberation in two big communities in France, gave birth to the first real female war hero. Lastly it created the treaty that was broken without knowledge.

The treaty that was broken without knowledge, treaty of Calais, was broken when John II was killed during the treaties process. When the black prince took hold of John, the second, the French had no choice, but to sign a treaty with the English. The treaty was meant to give the English back what was originally, their land. It was also meant to stop the French from trying to conquer them again, but when John died it was refused. John's son, Charles V, refused the treaty when his father died in captivity, while waiting for the treaty to be created on signed, since the English were using him as leverage, he was not to be let go until the treat was done. The war's turning point was reached in 1429, when the English army was forced to raise its siege of Orleans by a relief force organized by Joan of then Arc. That force drove the English out of the town and by doing so Joan set a ripple in the traditional French world. She caused liberation of two major French towns. One of them being the famous Paris. As a result of her efforts Joan was latter rewarded. She was appointed to be a Saint. She also had a French National holiday made created after her, the second Sunday of May. Although Joan was appointed to be a Saint, that was close to five-hundred years after she was burnt to death for seventy some charges against her.
