~ Esmerelda knows everything there is to know about the army because her father serves our country. Her family has lived in Korea, Kenya, then Germany, before finally coming home to the United States. One morning while her they are making their famous pancakes, her father tells them that he will be tour of duty for 100 days and 99 nights. Esme is happy that they don’t have to move again, but she is sad because she doesn’t want to be without her father again.
