Instead, at the age seventeen soon to be eighteen, I observe how everyone my age now parties and doesn't put their worth first. I see girls I know worrying about how many likes she can get on a picture, or boys picking out their next girl to ruin. Do you, as an individual, conform to society or do you like to show people that you are different than most others? Out of the seven billion people who live in this world, most would say they conform to society, which is very natural. Humans are social beings and conforming to society is one way that we show each other that we are like them. Sometimes we feel obligated to conform by the people we respect, look up to, or people who are in higher positions than us. In the article, “The Sociology of Leopard Man”, Logan Feyes states that, “conformity can be seen as the world’s most common but dangerous psychological disorder.”…

Kids are usually not biases about many things as much as adults are and really gain those biases from adults and still learning things in life. This can be seen when in the story a character says,” If you can learn a simple trick scout, you’ll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view. This shows that scout is learning and shows that scout is not as biased and is seeing things not from a biased point of view. From my own personal experience kids are more open minded than adults because they dont care much about society’s…

Charles Darwin said: “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” People have been changed by different circumstances; if they want to live better, they should try to adapt to new environments. Children of immigrants must learn new languages and rules of behaviors in new countries that are different from their parents. School experiences also teach children how to be stronger and more mature, and how to better merge into society.…

My background is central to my identity, because who I was then and the memories I have now, with the things that happened to me throughout my life, have changed me into who I am today. Yet, in the past few years, I have changed drastically and still am growing into the person I want to be.
