The process of finding an article of interest begins by opening the Internet and going to a general website where one can conduct a common search. Some examples of general websites are Google, Yahoo, or Bing. Once this website is open, an individual can type in the name of the topic he or she in interested in finding out more information about. For example if an adult is interested in finding out information about optimizing the development of children, he or she can type in something like “ways to promote a child’s development.” There are many ways to type in what an individual is searching for, not just exactly as the way mention above. When I first read the online article “10 Ways to Promote Baby Development,” I thought it offered good examples of how to stimulate an infant’s development. Even though it offered examples that seem to be very beneficial towards a child’s development, I wasn’t completely convinced of the credibility of this article until I searched for articles that have conducted original research on some of the examples mentioned. I personally give more credibility to articles that have conducted their own research because they have their original research to support their claims.
