"Jason Thomas Matthews," Elizabeth rolled the words around in her mouth as she spoke them, nodding at the sound. "Jason Thomas Matthews. That's really nice. It suits you," she said and really meant it. The way the names fit together, and the traditional feel of them, combined to make a strong and impressive name. "Mrs. Matthews. Mrs. Jason Matthews," Elizabeth tried out versions of what her married name might be. "Mrs. Elizabeth Matthews. Mrs. Fletcher-Matthews. No, not that. It will mean the end of the Fletcher name, but that just won't do. And I'll still be a Fletcher woman just wearing your ring and your name," she said and ate half of a fry as she considered it. "I like it." Elizabeth ate the other half of the fry and then pushed them towards …show more content…
In the face paint with the," she mimed the Joker's scars at the edge of his mouth. "He was such a good actor and I was very sad when he died. He and Julia Stiles were so cute in 10 Things I Hate About You. The kiss at the end when they finally made up? It was so wonderful. And, what was that other movie he was in? Something about the American Revolution? He was sewn up in this bag," Elizabeth's hands sketched it out around herself, "so he could sleep the night with his, well not girlfriend back then I guess. His intended? Anyway so he could sleep in the same bed with her while they were courting and she made him drink this tea that she'd put ink in because he'd done that to her when they were little and his teeth were all black. Then the next morning as he was leaving she smiled and her teeth were black too and you knew they'd been kissing all night. That was so sweet."

"He died though. In the movie I mean, of course he died in real life. It's a shame. I really thought he was cute. Handsome as he started to grow up, as he became a man and left the boy behind. What was the name of it? Do you know, Jason? You seem to know a lot about movies and everything

This assignment offers you the occasion to write a letter to the editor of any newspaper, business, or organization that you choose. Typically, these types of letters are written in response to articles in such publications, or in response to some local issue that might be also connected to a national one. Readers also respond to the inclusion of specific ads, especially their design or content, in publications. So, to begin with, consider an issue about which you have a strong opinion or “pet peeve”—something that bothers you or something that you think ought to be changed. Eventually you should also read carefully through one of your chosen publications—the one to which you will address your letter.…

I wrote one “source-based argumentative essay” in high school: my final essay from sophomore English. The guidelines were to write a four to eight page paper on any topic of your choice, but the thesis of the paper had to come across clearly. At the time, my personal goals were to write about something no one else would, as well as get an A in the class. As a future collegiate writer, I feel as though I have the habits and potential strengths to be successful, but my biggest weakness is that I do not know how to write a professional essay and I am a reluctant editor.…

Low Self-esteem and Compromising Behaviors Among Adolescents Self esteem issues in adolescents is a hugely common issue, but there are rarely any studies done to examine how it has an effect on an adolescent’s life. This is an important area to research because knowing more about what drives adolescents to make poor choices can help educate and help teens that may be more at risk. Adolescents with low self esteem are perceived as more likely to fall victim to peer pressure and therefore engage in risky behaviors. The purpose of this journal is to understand whether adolescents with low self esteem are more likely to engage in inappropriate behaviors such as early sexual activity, drug use, and poor nutrition and hygiene habits by using various…

I really enjoyed this film the characters were fun and so was the dialogue. The film almost remind me of 10 Things I Hate About You which was said to be based of a Shakespeare play The Taming of the Shrew, in which the leading lady was originally against marriage yet somehow was tricked into one. Jan is the shrew which is defined as an ill-tempered woman characterised by scolding and nagging and Brad is the man that tames her as his alter ego Rex. Rex represents everything Brad is not and that is the only reason why Jan fell in love with him. In my honest opinion, Brad is a creepy and I would not want go to his house of horrors for anything.…

I do believe I am not the only person with this pet peeve. When you write on my school papers or any of my papers really, there better be a good reason as to why you are writing things on my paper. Mark Twain once said, “The worst loneliness is to not be comfortable with yourself.” As a person who struggles with depression and low self-esteem, I find this quote to be very easy to relate to. With this mindset, it can be difficult to have a positive outlook not only on life, but on myself. This essay gives me a chance to explore the parts of myself that I am proud of and examine the people and events that have shaped me. Three words I would use to describe myself are logical, open-minded, and responsible.…

Being a satirical novel, Jane Austen 's Pride and Prejudice is filled with scenes depicting the social norms and standards of the 19th century and how ridiculous some of them were, the majority prodding at the conditions of their social class structure or genders. Once scene critiquing both of these aspects is Mr Collins ' proposal to Elizabeth. Analyzing the standards of women only marrying for superficial purposes, women being told that they 're worth relied on them being married to men in classes above their original ones, and men not being able to understand the word "no" Austen was able to portray these standards in a way where they were easily seen as over the top and ridiculous, while portrayed in the world where these actions were the norm and were expected. Even after two centuries, remnants of these standards can be found in today 's dating culture. Mr Collins ' proposal to Elizabeth read as less of a heartfelt "spur of the moment" address and more of a speech he rehearsed over and over again, keeping everything the same except switching out one girl 's name…

    Low Self Esteem Essay

The myth I chose was that self esteem causes major psychological problems. I was drawn to this myth because I hear a lot about the damaging effects of low self esteem, on children and adults alike. Personally I did not know any real evidence on it, simply that it was something I assumed to be true. The book used the examples of the columbine shooters, and how in the media, the most common reason given as to why to young people could do such a thing was because they were bullied, and therefore had low self esteem. In retrospect, it now seems a bit hasty to believe low self esteem could be the major cause of such a catastrophe, especially since we would probably have a lot more of these events happening if that were true.…

The main enemy for a teen that people don’t always see are insecurities. The lack of self confidence or the fear of not only how teens see themselves, but the way in which others perceive them as well. Insecurities latch a hold on high school teenagers and could stay with them as they move into adult hood. The everyday pressures that teens face cause insecurities in both girls and boys. These insecurities then drive those teens to react in dangerous ways, causing huge problems.…

Who am I? A question that would made you think well and might puzzle you out. Describing yourself is harder than describing someone because there are some areas in you that you are not certain of such as characteristics, personalities, and attitude. Also, there are things that other people would notice while we can’t because those things are the things we do that we are not conscious about. Talking about myself, I am Noreen Joyce F.
