There are many people involved in the learner’s course. The role of a TA in the quality assurance process is to assess the suitability of learners by the use of the initial assessment. This will determine what course is suitable for the learner, by assessing their existing knowledge and understanding, as well as their style of learning. The assessments will also highlight any additional support needs the learner might require. The TA will need to explain HIT’s policies and procedures for; Equality & Diversity; Data Protection; Appeals Procedure and offer IAG at the start of their course. The TA is therefore responsible for the planning of assessments with the learner and their employer. They will also deliver teaching and learning to suit the learner and their course, taking on board the learner’s learning style. The TA will then support the learner throughout their course. The EQA is involved in the planning, delivery and assessment of all qualifications that the HIT are delivering. They ensure the standards of the qualifications are maintained to a consistent level and that the work produced by the TAs and QAs are standardised. Their responsibilities include; visiting HIT to check and verify all assessment decisions and ensure that we are assessing the learner’s work, performance and learning in accordance with the evidence requirements and the qualification standards.
