1.1 Explain The Importance Of Working In A Nursery Setting

We have a child at nursery that has a disability where she has no feeling or muscles in her stomach down to her legs she cannot walk she bum shuffles she comes to the nursery 5 days a week and she does her exercises every day. we have adapted the nursery setting to her needs such as the sand and water tray are on the stands when she is in the room she has a special chair which supports her back the activities are all set down to her level so she doesn’t miss out on anything she cannot be left alone on this chair because if she is she is likely to fall down through the middle this helps support her. We have a support worker who works in the room to help with the child’s development she works alongside the child every day. We have many professionals who work alongside the child such as physiotherapy who explains the exercises we need to do with her here, also the health workers who come out every term to check on her development and to see what she is like in the setting, senco also work alongside her to get the panel to agree for more support for the child, we have practitioners who are all involved in the child’s development. We have regular updates from the child’s parents who constantly show us videos and pictures of how well she is doing at home how far she has come since she first …show more content…
This can affect children in the manner that they may think they cannot play alongside boys and that they can just play with
