These maps can assist children with SLCN in a number of ways;

Over time as progress and services are linked, patterns may emerge which also help with this task. Costs can also be saved by examining if there are duplications/ ineffective use of resources and where resources cannot be increased in certain areas, the Head/teacher can consider what outside help is available (government bodies and so on).
Because Accountability is displayed on the provision map (perhaps there are two specialists or teachers qualified and experienced in delivering certain areas of provision and from examining the data one can see which pupils have these staff members), one can decide which teacher maybe the best for a particular pupil depending on each individual case.
