Sol walked over to the kitchen. It wasn’t until they reached up to the cabinet for a bowl did they realize that they’d been using their powers subconsciously. Sol hoped Anja never noticed. Glancing up at the TV, Sol watched as the news played a clip. It had a man making a vaguely red, almost crystal-like shield to protect himself from the cops.
The reporter droned on, “The mysterious man is calling himself ‘Blout’, and several eyewitness accounts describe him as having a distinct scar across his neck.”
Despite the brief thought of them not being able to do it, Sol knew what they needed to do. Standing up, they walked into their room. Tugging their trademark purple shawl on, Mx.Lux threw open the window, and dashed up the metal stairs connecting

Bits and pieces of rubble began to fall . The other beams and columns began to give way as well, sending another shower of dust. Cherry Bomb and Umbra dashed in. Umbra grabbed Mx.Lux’s hand and ran. Glancing back, Mx.Lux spotted Blout and Cherry Bomb sprinting to the other exit before the warehouse collapsed.
“We should go.”

Anja began to mumble, half to herself,“I can’t believe it’s been a month.”
“A month since what?” Sol asked through a mouthful of cereal, music blaring through their headphones.
Anja blinked, glancing between Maria, who had been sitting quietly, and Sol frantically. It was Maria who ended up responding, “A month since I got stuck in an elevator with the heroes!”
It was literally the worst excuse, and Maria’s awkward laugh should’ve been a little suspicious, but Sol simply shrugged it off.
Suddenly the TV flashed with the breaking news. Blout had resurfaced and is after an unidentified person in an apartment complex in Mercer Street.
Sol excused themself, and locked their room door behind them. Pulling on their suit, their headphones was the last thing to be taken off, and they caught the end of the song before they yanked it off.
