The Renaissance was a time of rebirth of new cultures and methods. Wars started to end when the Black Death, otherwise known as the bubonic plague, struck feudal towns. People in major cities started to view humans differently; they saw that there was much more worth in human life than they thought. Humans have shown their worth. More buildings were constructed with different materials and methods to increase stability and strength. Art becomes more detailed and specific. During the Renaissance, many people’s views changed due to new ideas and opinions of great scholars. Architecture began to change, as did art. Studies in science and mathematics were significantly increased by the Renaissance and the urge to learn more. People began to work more efficiently. Artist Leonardo da Vinci painted The Vitruvian Man, a scale showing the human body and how each part correlated with other parts. Document D compares two paintings, one called Zodiac Man, and shows a detailed account of what the human body’s muscular system looks like. When compared to the painting on the left, you can tell the view of man has changed from the medieval times to the Renaissance. Additionally, in Document C, the views of the solar system changed with the times. Originally, astronomers believed that the Earth was the center of the solar system, but when telescope technology advanced, they realized that the sun was the center of the solar system. When feudalism was in place, the church was what many people revolved around and believed in. However, when the bubonic plague hit Europe, many started doubting their faith in God and the church because they began to believe that God wouldn’t do something that bad to them if they hadn’t done anything wrong in the first
