According to Oxford Dictionary, a zoo is any establishment that collects animals in parks or gardens in order to study, conserve or display them to people. To conserve the population of certain endangered species, some conservation agencies establish zoos where they breed the animals before returning them to the wild. Some zoos are also started up for the sole purpose of entertaining people in exchange for money. In such zoos mostly large and attractive ones are kept in cages where visitors can…
Both of the articles that we read over the past few days had completely different opinions. The first article was about how most zoos lie about them being dedicated to wildlife conservation, public education, and animal welfare, and that zoos are only interested in personal financial gain. The second article, written by Hutchins, was about zoos improving the care that they give to the animals and that animals now have a much better life than that they would have had in the wild. Laidlaw’s…
In my opinion i think that zoos are inhumane for many reasons. One, they don't get to live and survive in their natural habitat.Which could alter their species completely. And may cause some changes physically. One con is that there is hardly any space for the animals to roam and play.It can't be fixed by adding on to the exhibits and possibly sending the animals to another new zoo. They could do that so less animals get taken against their will to a zoo. That way less animals would get harmed.…
an unhappy thing for animals in zoos. Zookeepers are not feeding animals enough food or giving animals enough space to play in the cages at zoos and aquariums, too. Animals all over the world need more care, more safety and more room to play with their type of species. Animals keep dying because zoo keepers and owners can not take good enough care of the animals, or have the time to feed the animals, or take the time to take good care of the animals. Animals in zoos are trapped in cages, all…
Zoos lie to you about the animals. Many zoos claim that the reason why they exist and continue to breed animals is to help protect endangered species, but that not true. In fact most animals in zoos aren't endangered, and those who are likely never be released into natural habitats. I think we shouldn't have zoos. Living without the important things to them can cause “zoochosis” which is a condition animals act strangely even hurt themselves from boredom or frustration. They don't get to do…
children took me to the Brevard Zoo. I was very excited to go, for this would be my first time seeing it. I have lived in Brevard county over twenty years of my life and somehow never managed the time to visit . A zoo is a place where different kinds of animals are kept and maintained with purpose of Educating the public about the varieties of animals and birds that exist all over the world, including our country. On our visit I observed that by going to the zoo, the experience expounds on…
April 2017 The Future of Zoos With the establishment of zoos, humans have been able to learn an immense amount of information about the other species that share our planet. As the idea of formalizing this institution started to become implemented in 19th century London, many other nations would soon follow after the zoo’s success. Most often through trial and error, early zoos had to adapt to the many challenges which they would face when taking care of these creatures. Zoos and other wildlife…

children, absolutely loves visiting the zoo. It is cost friendly compared to paying to see animals in the wild. People get to catch a glimpse of the exotic animals that he or she can only see on TV documentaries, or maybe dreamt of when their parents read them stories like The Jungle Book as a child. People’s eyes fill with excitement when they get to go see the lions, tigers, and bears. However, the animals are less than enthused. While I think that zoos are amazing for educational…
Zoos and aquariums provide endless entertainment for most of the population, but for the animals in cages, tanks, and terrariums, it is not so fun. The animals in zoos and aquariums are stolen from a vast and endless environment and are then shoved into a smaller setting. They can no longer hunt, exercise, and bond with other animals. The animals are solely kept, to make profit for businesses. To make more money, animals are forced to breed, as it is found that humans loves to watch newborn…
