As a result, the tooth either grows sideways or cause extra flaps of gums to swell and partially or fully cover the affected tooth. Most impacted wisdom teeth needs surgery and requires the extraction of the affected tooth. In some cases, the affected area needs only a small incision of the…

It may be possible to recognize the word wisdom in a short definition but would not make it justice to the vast meaning of wisdom. Wisdom in my brief opinion means seeing things as they are, to see things in a profound way, and understand the situations that life bestows upon you. Therefore, know when to act and when not to. Be able to modify life situations in everyday life. …

"To understand a proverb and a figure"1 is part of the vision of life in the book of Proverbs. The pearls of wisdom within are quite similar to many found in the Odyssey. The emphasis on virtue is the same in both books; Odysseus and Telemachus illustrate the striving after virtue. However, as the Greeks view their gods differently than the Jews do God, these books diverge in some ways. The approach to life differs, but the search for happiness is the same. He gained wisdom by realizing that he should not have been concerned about the thoughts or actions of others, by realizing that patience is needed to complete a task, and by realizing that some things in life are…

In the Apology, by Plato, Socrates makes two particular claims about himself. The first is that he does not know anything and the second is that he is wiser than every man in Athens. While these two claims may seem contradicting to one another because of our traditional conviction of relating wisdom to knowledge, Socrates refutes this correlation with his Socratic Paradox; which instead correlates knowledge with virtue and ignorance with evil. We learn about Socrates’ notion of wisdom through…
