Predictive analytics can be used which allows businesses to extract big data and analyze it to better understand customers. This analysis is a game changer for businesses because it allows them to make predictive models that will help them serve their customers better. This business strategy is important as it provides the data they need to make predictions for the future and it gives them the ability to modify when results are affected. In order to take this strategy into consideration, firms…
What in the Tractatus is Wittgenstein Talking About? Early Wittgenstein seems to suggest that sentences of natural science have meaning, without being able to give meaning to the way of which we understand those sentences. This dismisses philosophy as only a tool to help clarify claims of natural science. However, he uses philosophy to come to this realization. He makes the realization that the way he explains his own findings are in fact a violation of those findings stating, “My propositions…
Question 2: Map scale is the ratio of the straight line distance between any two points on a map to the straight line distance between the same two points on the earth’s surface. Now when looking at map scale there a few concepts for instance, ratio (representational fraction) scale is a concept of map scale. Ratio scale is always neutral in the scale measurement used on the map. So when looking at a map scale of 1:50 000 it means that 1 unit of measurement on the map is equal to 50 000 of the…
When looking at the floor plan of the Kaufmann Desert House by Richard Neutra, the first thing that was drawn to my attention was all the similar geometry, specifically the L shaped geometries. They were all different shapes and sizes, and were facing all different directions, There was a sense of repetition embedded within the floor plan. A central axis stood out, and it was obvious that all the L shaped geometries were rotated around this central axis, and then shifted off of it. Diagram one…
The handy helper I choose was a video from Khan Academy. This video was about the Cartesian Coordinate System. I naturally gravitated to the Khan Academy link because I was already accustomed to the website while using it to get spun back up before this class. The Kahn Academy site contains similar math videos and you learn from watching their videos and practicing math problems that relate to the video. This particular video consists of a guy explaining math while at the same time visually…
The solution of the Frank and Doris race problem looked to be simple at first. Although Doris speed began faster, Frank gained speed and passed her and thus seemed to be the winner of the race. After looking more closely at the problem I discovered this was not quite the case. I first sketched Frank and Doris given values onto the one Velocity-Time graph. Originally looking at this graph, it looks as if Frank passes Doris at 10 seconds, because that is when his speed becomes greater than Doris’s…
3. A BRIEF BACKGROUND ON THE DECISION MAKING TOOLS USED Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), developed by Saaty (34), is designed to solve complex multi-criteria decision problems. AHP decomposes the complex decisions in a hierarchical structure and makes it easy to manage the complex decisions in this way. So the decision maker can determine the trade-offs among objectives related to all criteria, sub-criteria and their pairwise comparisons. The output of AHP is a prioritized ranking…
Google Analytics data was collected for the domain www.pegandkris.com for a duration of one month, from October 12, 2016 to November 11, 2016 (Google Analytics, 2016). Data collected includes the number of sessions, number of users, user origination, user behavior, devices used, and revenue generated (Google Analytics, 2016). Kristy May, CEO and collector of the data, states that the data has been collected primarily to decipher the effectiveness of the company’s online marketing strategies (K.…
Felicity, Is it subjective or objective? Do people strive to attain happiness by means of their own understanding of the world? Can it be compared to reality, where we try to base our view of what is real and true as much as we are capable of through own perhaps incomplete reasoning? Likewise for happiness do we all devote our time to obtain that happiness as closely as possible, according to our own understanding or is it all just subjective? Have your heard of a cliché statements such as ‘Mind…
Georg Friedrich Bernhard Riemann was a German mathematician who made huge contributions to the field of mathematics, and more specifically calculus. Riemann was born on September 17, 1826 in Breselenz, Germany. His father, Friedrich Bernhard Riemann, was a poor pastor, and his mother, Charlotte Ebell, died before her children had reached adulthood. Growing up, Riemann showed exceptional skill with mathematics, such as his abilities in calculation. In fact, in 1840, Riemann went to live with his…
