    Diary Of Anne Frank Essay

    • 812 Words
    • 4 Pages

The main conflict in Frank's diary is her fight to overcome the pressure in her life, such as constricted living space, rationed food, and the fear of being caught. This conflict can be considered internal and man vs. self. By the conclusion of the diary, Anne’s conflict is still unresolved, because she is still living in the Secret Annex. It is very evident that Anne's stress and anxiety impacts her and those around her. Frank develops many mood swings, which angers her family and friends. For example, "If you were to read my pile of letters one after another, you would certainly be struck by the many different moods in which they are written. It annoys me that I am so dependent on the atmosphere here, but I'm certainly not the only one-we all find it the same. If I read a book that impresses me, I have to take myself firmly in hand, before I mix with other people; otherwise they would think my mind rather queer. At the moment, as you've probably noticed, I'm going through a spell of being depressed. I really couldn't tell you why it is, but I believe it's just because I'm a coward, and that's what I keep bumping up against"(114 Frank). Evidently, the depression and overwhelming emotions Frank endures daily impacts the people she lives with. A song that pertains to the conflict is Everybody Wants to Rule the World, by Tears for Fears. The song is about battling the hardships that war brings, similar to what Anne must do. This is an example of man vs. society. One of…

Fears Gotham 's skies had grown dark, almost crepuscular as the rusty sky traced with black clouds full of horror reminded every citizen he had won. Will there ever be a blue sky again? Or a smile on a young child 's face? Will there ever be a look of happiness in the teenagers eyes that wasn 't traced with fright? Scarecrow doubted this and he smiled at the thought. Jonathan Crane wasn 't insane, he wasn 't a maniac unlike the doctors at Arkham thought, if they were doctors at all. He…

Aniya Ziga Unimaginable fear replaced the blood that ran through her veins. The woman pushed her body limit by sprinting faster than she ever possibly thought she could. Uncontrollably loud wheezing came from her chest, as her sweat ran down her cold skin alongside her tears that squeezed into the corners of her lips and into her mouth, tasting salt on her dry tongue. She ran behind an auto store to catch her breath and stood in utter silence. She suddenly heared gravel being crushed and…

I glanced at Betty and I could feel the panic on her face as she tried to help me to my feet. Unbeknownst to me, my water had broken on the way to her car. My heart started racing as I could feel fear seep into my pores and I clutched my stomach harder. The roads were slick and wet as Betty tried to drive as fast as she could without attracting attention from the police. The hospital was fifteen miles away and I closed my eyes to forget about the awfully long time it was taking to get there.…

realize I had. I was terrified of performing in front of others, but because of Keziah’s advice I overcame that fear. She told me that I shouldn’t be afraid of being judged for how I perform, and I should know that I’m stronger than the negative comments that I feared. I’m still shy now, but with her help it isn’t as bad as it used to be. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t be able to sing confidently by myself for things like church, youth group, and song covers with my friends. Now that I’m in…

Dropping to my knees, I shut my eyes trying to block my emotions from escaping. I lost my parents. They are the ones who need me here. Father with his idiot dad jokes and Mother with her winsome smile gone. And, nothing I could do could fix it. All I seemed to be able to do was scream and scream. Scream into the abyss of clouds. Scream until I had nothing left but a raw voice and blood-red eyes. Within those screams, you could hear years of raw pain and anguish, all once buried deep, flooding…

“Can’t we stop for a moment? Hide in a shop maybe?” Jack panted as three teenagers slowed to a quick walk down a Berlin street. David and Hannah hurried along behind Jack while scolding him for such and absurd idea. They couldn’t stop until they reached safety. Running from a gestapo was difficult work and it would be too long before they could find a safe house or forest to duck into. They were Jews which somehow made them criminals in their world of 1940 Germany. Another threat was the…
