It is amazing how 2.5 by 3.5 inches of cardboard could achieve unimaginable things. During my seventh grade year, as a walked through the cafeteria to look for a place to fit in, I saw a few people playing a card game at one of the tables. The game caught my attention and I walked over to check out what they were playing. That was when I was introduced into Magic: The Gathering. I didn’t particularly like the game at first with more rules than the United States Constitution. However, just like the Anti-Federalists, I learned to accept the constraints the game imposed on emerging victorious. One of the mechanics of the game that I fell in love with was the interaction between both players to respond to any action. Always being on the edge of my seat having no control over the next move fed my excitement of the game. You always had to predict what the opponent would do after every move -- mindfulness was key. The amount of personality you can express when playing Magic: The Gathering starts from what deck you play. If you wanted to take control of the game at all times you can be an answer key to your opponent’s actions. If you wanted to express how aggressive you are, you can be that overly-competitive guy in every little thing. Even though Magic: The Gathering is just a simple card game (not really), it became a reference to me to how I should be mindful about every action before committing. Throughout the many years I have played Magic: The Gathering, the game has showed…

His eyes weren't yellow, but he had a large gash on his cheek and several bites on his body. "Guys we still haven't checked the art room yet," I…

Based on knowledge about hot spots in the protein (e.g. binding pockets, catalytically active sites, dimerization domains), specific residues are selected for mutagenesis due to their importance in the hot spot. Residues are substituted randomly using techniques such as overlap- extension PCR (oe-PCR) and QquickC change mutagenesis PCR (QC-PCR). The former is popular for introducing multiple mutations in the gene. Degenerate oligonucleotides are used as primers in PCR to amplify fragments of…

certification for it. For the non-psychics it is a little easier to find because there’s a larger population for non-psychics than psychics. An extraneous variable in the selection method would be having all the subjects to do the experiment all at the same time, in similar blank rooms, with nothing but a table and the shuffling machine in order to ensure that information is being linked amongst other subjects, the blank rooms to give no environmental advantage to any subjects and alone with no…

Before beginning, Amy told me to pick out which set I wanted, which I then picked the horseshoe placement; The Horseshoe placement is based on determining the past events and how they will reflect the future outcomes. She began by telling me to relax, as the cards need absolute concentration in order to work, and we both placed our hands on the deck. I was then asked to think of a question, one in which could be answered by a yes or a no. It was at this time that she stated that I needed to…

This is the exact procedure Cynthia Cooper followed, where she approached her immediate manager in the form of a boardroom meeting, where she aired her concerns about shuffling reserves to manipulate profit figures. The next step in creating effective whistleblowing is it to take the issue to higher authority if the immediate manager brushes the situation off, which again Cynthia did, in that she took the matter up with the new external auditors…

It seemed as if the whole town was asleep ,and each street longer than the next, in the pitch black of night. We knew differently of course, for whomever was on the street for which we were headed must have been awake at some point or another. Finally, we pulled up to the alleged place of suspicion. It didn’t look like much, just a modest cottage fit for a small amount of people. Dim light was coming from the cottage, indicating that someone was stirring. This was of to be expected, for this…
