    could see myself using these in my classroom, especially if like my supervising teacher the students are at tables instead of personal desks. b. My supervising teacher has reading stations as the first subject every day. There are three stations; one station is self-read, one station is partner read, and the final station is called word work. My supervising teacher has each student select the order in which they will do their stations. However, if the station they chose is full they must move on to another station. The students do a great job of getting to their station and know their expectations once they get there. Hanging on the wall are three posters. Each one of the posters says the teacher’s job in each station and the student’s job. This helps to make sure that everyone is on task. My supervising teacher often will spend individual time with students who struggle with reading during these stations and she has a Para and me in the classroom help the other stations. The kids do an excellent job of staying on task and switching stations. The volume level stays low and my supervising teacher told me that she has been doing this rotation for many years and has seen a great improvement in her students. She said that some students make a year’s worth of progress in just eight weeks because these stations keep them reading for longer, without seeming to drag on. 4.
