Root cause

“Root Cause Analysis” is one method of determining the underlying reasons that something has occurred. This problem-solving technique is used in the work place, but it could also be used for evaluation or discovering true intentions. The analysis process involves a beginning statement. The question, “why” follows the statement and is answered. The answer is considered one cause of the initial statement, but it is not the root cause. To find the root cause, the previous answer becomes the next statement, and “why” is asked again. The idea is that if “why” is asked five times, the fifth answer will be the root cause. Using this technique, the root cause of why I will pursue pharmacy as my career will be revealed. Why will I pursue pharmacy as my career? I am choosing pharmacy because I possess the skills that a person needs to excel above and beyond the expectations of an average pharmacist. I can communicate with people one-on-one by effectively listening to them and explaining what they need to know. As a pharmacist, I will need these communication skills for teaching patients about their medications and working with my team members.
