Hoof Print I have been around horses ever since I can remember because my mom loves horses. I took lessons every week to become a better rider with my horse, “Poe.” Carol, my new instructor (appositive), told me to try to not use stirrups when riding him. I had to pull him back to slow him down, however, I usually use my stirrups to ground me, because Poe is a very strong horse and I had, and still don’t have, virtually any upper body strength. As I was trying to slow him down I…

different time periods. Although plays, dramas and screenplays are not in the literary works category, they are frequently known to be comprised of these similar literary elements as well. This appears to be the case in Robert Frost’s famous poem, “Mending Wall” and Neil Simon’s well known drama, The Odd Couple. While these two writings are categorized in different groups, they share the comparable theme of limitations. It is a person’s civilized responsibility to, at all times, know their…

Out of all three of the main characters, my least favorite would have to be Cody Splunk. I personally loved the overall melancholy feel of the book despite what the cover would have one to believe prior to reading it. The stories behind both Laura Freedman and Janice Gibbs flow seemingly concurrently and are almost poetic in nature. There are many similarities found between Gibbs and Freedman that are not found in Splunk. He’s the odd man out basically. But, of course, him being the odd man out…

In Rosalind Wiseman’s essay “Queen Bee and Her Court”, she specified various roles played in social cliques. In the essay, she states “cliques are sophisticated, complex, and multilayered, and every girl has a role within them.” This demonstrates that although it may seem cliques are very simple, they are actually very conglomerate.
