When we show mercy, the conviction of the Holy Spirit reminds us to show forgiveness, compassion, and love towards the one who has “fallen.” We are not without sin. In the workplace, when a mistake is made it may not be due to an individual purposely making these mistakes. It could possibly be a training issue, misunderstanding, or lack of tools available. Exemplifying mercy will show others how to be merciful when the times come, also serving as a positive role-model and Child of God. Sixth Beatitude, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” (Matthew 5:8) As with all things, we should do them with the best of intentions. In the workplace if a promotion was given to someone who does not have much of the education behind him or her, but their work ethic speaks for them, we are to congratulate them and know our time will be next. Through God all Blessings will…

The standards for music have changed as well, especially with the onset of technology like auto-tune. Each of the 5 songs appealed to me in one way or another. I’ll admit, I am a bit arrogant sometimes, and simply annoying other times. At home, I’ll learn extra if I’m interested in a topic, but otherwise I slack off. Following my…

relationship is about trust and knowing that you have someone at your side on the same team and not someone who constantly beats you down verbally or physically. Early sign number 4: Losing your own self 4) Losing one self can come gradually. Being in a relationship where you do not want to do the things that once made you happy is very restrictive. When I was first given this assignment, I had trouble deciding who to write the paper on. For years, I’ve fought a mental battle, trying to prevent people from influencing me— I want to have my own opinions and beliefs. But I realized that the influence didn’t need to concern views or interests. It could be about how somebody had influenced my behaviors, my coping mechanisms, my view of myself. I knew who to write my paper on. An important influence in my life has been my older brother, Matthew…

The countdown started the day my mom told us we were going to Atlantis in the Bahamas. One of the best surprises I've ever had. It had been years since I went to vacation with my family all together. The countdown felt like months or years but really it was only two weeks. I’ve never been to the Bahamas and neither has my sister Sydney which explains why the countdown seemed so long. The time came to go to the airport and board the plane. Now the countdown is down to 15 minutes waiting for the…

Often while growing up, we are taught to be good people, to have good morals, and to do others what we would want to have done to ourselves. However, being a good citizen is not stressed nearly as much as being a good person, yet both ideas go hand and hand. The quote "it is impossible to be a good person and not a good citizen" as said by the late University of Arkansas professor Diane Blair, although simple, has a deep meaning. To me, the quote means living the morals I was taught about being…
