The integumentary system is part of an organ system which protects the body from all external processes while still being able to be surrounded by the climate change on a day to day basis. The integumentary systems most important organ is the skin, which protects the body from external damage. Not only does the system consist of skin as its main organ but also has accessory organs as well, such as hair, nails, and exocrine glands.
