general area of body dissatisfaction and media images has its limitations too. According to Sparks (2013), Alan Roberts and Emily Good reported that the harmful effects of media images might not be as widespread as what we used to believe. In fact, recent research suggested that the harmful effects of media exposure to thin body images seemed to happen mainly for women who are high in neuroticism. This implies that the majority of women would not be affected by media exposure to thin body images. This may be a potential problem for my proposed media research because it would be difficult to identify my research participants into groups that are characterized with high neuroticism or low neuroticism. It also affects the external validity and ecological validity of my proposed research, because each individual are characterized with different levels of neuroticism. And thus, would be difficult to generalize the result of the research to other populations. I would consider using both the experimental method and survey in this study. In my opinion, the use of the experimental method and survey are the best research methods for this study. Through the use of a pre-test and post-test experiment with a treatment and a control group, one would be able to show the effect of exposure to diet product ads models on college male students. However, one should take into account that the result of this experiment is probably not generalizable to all college male students since each…

In addition to your assigned article you will need to use your textbooks or other resources to adequately talk about the specific aspects of having validity in a research study. Validity is affected by low statistical power. As stated above, a power analysis was unable to be conducted for this study.
