Vectors are Proven in a 2015 Water Balloon Lab Not only do people not know what a vector is, but they also do not realize that vectors are used in everyday life. Vectors include magnitude and direction, without one or the other it would not be a vector. Several components make up a vector; these items are displacement, velocity, acceleration, and force. By finding the components one can find the horizontal velocity, vertical velocity, initial velocity, and maximum height. Physic equations can be used to help solve these problems. One important aspect that is known to affect vectors is an angle. Angles can help create and show the results of a vector, especially if something were to be released in place of that vector. Physicist in training analyzed and manipulated vectors to see the results they can have on things. As any scientist or researcher, a lab is the best way to have hands on experience and to create an opinion on the subject. Labs that can create this type of effect would be shooting a water balloon out of a slingshot. As it may not be mentioned much, water balloons being released by a slingshot is a great example of vectors. Many problems can occur when doing experiments like these, some problems may include measuring distance incorrectly, measuring angles incorrectly, and timing incorrectly.
