    Team Printing Case Study

    • 3 Pages

By the end of 2017 Faye had been at SportsEngine for only 4 months, so this review is abbreviated. Faye was hired to help balance out a team having more junior developers than mid-level to senior developers. She is a stronger backend developer than frontend, and is comfortable in the Rails development stack. She has mainly worked on the Mass Rostering for the League Teams project, which included: printable rosters and contacts sheets, orphaned persona with User Service roles, and limiting the rows returned based on an entry number for a Relational Registration User Filter; she also contributed on some small items for Club Teams in Sitebuilder. All of the Mass Rostering items were in challenging and complex parts of the system. Faye approached them head-on and drove them to completion. I always push backend developers to be able to develop frontend components, especially the more experienced developers. Much of what I had Faye work on when she started was in Angular development and this was an area she had much less experience with than Rails. Most of her time was spent on Mass Rostering, specifically printing contacts and a team roster from TeamCenter. This was a very new and stretching area for Faye. She struggled some, but worked well with Scott Trenda to solve the need. Printing is not an easy problem to solve and Trenda shared the challenges he had when this was done a number of years ago in Tourney - it has not become any easier. I appreciated Faye's approach to learn…
