back over the years, I realize that there are several memorable events that have happened in my life. Life is all about making memories and also cherishing those memories. Like the time I found out I was the valedictorian of my high school class, or my college freshman move in day. Both of these events will forever be special to me, but my FAVORITE memory would have to be my Jaguar Club field trip. In high school I was a member of a volunteer organization named the Jaguar Club. The Jaguar Club is named after my high school mascot, which is a jaguar. The Jaguar Club was founded by my 10th grade history teacher, Mr. Dean. In 2013, the Jaguar Club was established at my high school. At the time, I was a sophomore in high school and Mr. Dean was one of my teachers. The organization started off with only a few classmates and me; throughout the years the membership in the club began to expand. The Jaguar Club was dedicated to volunteer work and helping out at school. I was a proud member of the Jaguar Club, and also one of the first members. What makes the trip so special is the fact that it was a road trip…a longgg road trip. It was an educational trip for history class. We still made the best of it, and had fun while learning. The states we visited were:…

The most memorable unit from my educational experience occurred in my twelfth grade English class. The unit was a comparative reading about Beowulf and Gilgamesh, which entailed several discussion based lectures and a final paper comparing the archetypes of heroes and characters. For me, this unit was so interesting as we discussed what made a hero and the hero’s journey, during this time I was writing my own book. I connected with this lesson because of my experiences outside school; with this…

visit Ben and I for the weekend. The part that I remember the most was when I tried to give directions, at eleven years old, to the Crocker Art Museum, from Davis to Sacramento. That year, my class took a fascinating field trip of which I wanted to share with my Grandparents. The trip to Sacramento went smoothly, changing lanes and getting off of the correct exit. Once we were in the city was when the confusion went to full volume. Not knowing the layout of the city, I focused on the general…

My intention for participating in this faculty led trip is to first experience and explore a new culture and second to learn more about something I have always enjoyed; marine life. I have always loved traveling and exploring, especially when it has a positive impact on other people or, in this case, an ecosystem filled with life. As a member of the QU Women's Soccer Team and an Athletic Training/Physical Therapy student, my academic and athletic schedule makes it very difficult to do any study…
