Vacuole
A space filled with liquid found in plant cells.
Cell membrane
The outer boundary of the cell. It is selectively permeable.
Cytoplasm
Jelly-like substance that fills the cell. All chemical reactions take place in here.
Plant Cells
Cell wall, Vacuole, Chloroplasts, Cell membrane, Cytoplasm, Nucleus
Nucleus
Controls the cell. Contains the genetic information (genes).
Animal Cells

Contain the pigment chlorophyll which gives plants their green colour. Necessary for photosynthesis.
Chromosomes
There are 46 of these in humans. Made up of genes. Carries the DNA with the information for inherited characteristics.
Cell wall
Made from a tough substance called cellulose. Gives support to the plant. Not present in animal cells.
