Totalitarianism

A one party rulership where the party controls all aspects of the peoples lives

Was the prime minister of Italy from 1922 to 1943 and represented fascism. Used a private army called the Black Shirts to overthrow

The leader of the Nazi germans from 1934 to 1945. Brings germany together by employing the masses for war production

Munich Pact & Appeasement

Britain and France meet with Hitler to agree that he will stop the aggression towards other countries and they settled for some land. This fails WW2 begins.

The allied forces were England, France, The soviet Union and America they fought to bring democracy and peace

Axis Powers

The Axis powers were the “bad guys” in WW2 the countries in the axis powers were Germany, Italy, and japan.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR)

President of the United states whom met with and supported Britain until war was declared and he then led America to war against the axis powers

Neutrality Act of 1939

America declares its neutral however they allow a cash and carry plan for Britain which allows Britain to buy things from America.

Lend Lease Act

When Britian ran out of money America said that they could take the things they need and after the war they would settle on payment back.

Prime minister of England. He begs Roosevelt for help in the war every time they meet.

Atlantic charter

Roosevelt and Winston meet in the atlantic ocean and make a peace plan for after the war.

Holocaust

The holocaust was the last part of German leader Hitler in his final solution plan. This included the mass extermination of a group of people based on their religion and the cruel treatment of human beings.

Was the replacement president after the passing president F.D.R. He made the world changing decision to drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima

The Manhattan Project was the undercover and secret construction of the Atomic bomb. It was called the Manhattan Project to throw off spies and was actually located in New Mexico.

When Britain prime mister Churchill, met with American president F.D.R, and the leader of the Soviet Union named Stalin. The met to discuss the world and peaceful solutions after the war

The U.N is a group of countries that have agreed to try to make the world a better place. Their goal is to increase global economy and to avoid war by talking out and making compromises

Geneva Convention

The Geneva Convention was an agreement between countries on the treatment of human beings and prisoners in times of war. It basically told countries to treat people humanity even in war times

The Nuremberg Trials were a set of trials for German militants for the inhumane things they did to people during the war. The big argument was wether the individuals were responsible or if the country was responsible instead

Was a quote from Winston Churchill stating that a certain point on a map is the iron curtain which separates soviet Communism influence from the rest of Europe

The Truman Doctrine was a plea from Truman to congress for money and permission to aid foreign countries resisting pressure from outside countries from communism

Marshall Plan

Marshall Plan was the U.S giving over 13 billion dollars to foreign countries to help develop and reduce famine. The plan also helped slow the grow and speed of communism

Berlin Airlift

The Berlin Airlift was the help and aid of the U.S and Britain though air drops of food and supplies. This was because the communist had blocked all resources that were normally transported to Berlin

NATO

NATO was the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Its goal was to united nations against communism

The Warsaw Pact was the opposite of NATO and its goal was to spend communism.
