Germany had the plan of defeating France quickly to have time to concentrate on Russia. The French however had very strong defences on their border to Germany. The Schlieffen Plan was the plan to go through Belgium to get to France. It didn't help however as Belgium was allies with Britain so Britain went to war.

The Russian Revolution
|
It was a revolution in Russia led by Vladimir Lenin against the leader at the time Tsar Nicholas the second. It was successful so Russia decided to leave the war.

The treaty of Versaille
|
A treaty which is considered the end of WW1. It punished Germany by not letting soldiers in the Rhineland and charged them millions in reparation fees. It also did not let them have a big army. The treaty also split up the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
