* US strategy to secure the many small islands in the Pacific.

Rationing

* War ration books and tokens were issued to each American family

* Dictated how much gasoline, tires, sugar, meat, silk, shoes, nylon and other items any one person could buy.


* Items were rationed because soldiers needed the supplies more than the Americans needed them at home.

Kamikaze

Kamikaze was Japanese suicide pilots. Kamikazes filled their planes with explosives and crashed them into Allied warships.
