the hostess must authorize the table or give you permission to use it. this allows you to ring items under specific table.

what does it mean to acquire a table

to acquire a table is the process of transferring a table from the hostess to the serve, which makes the serve responisble for all items rung under that table. to acquire said table, is to accept the table from the hostess for your use. blocks other servers from using that specific table

how much guests are needed at a table in order to add 15% gratuity

8 guest eating from the buffet or drinking chargeable items are required. a free child eating from the buffet with a water counts a s aperson

when processing a credit card, what must you wait to see on the screen, before you hit send key

wait until you see that there is an authorization code

how do you ring up a party that presents a timeshare voucher? what dod you do if some members of a party have a timeshare voucher and others dont

if they present one and it covers every guest at the table, acquire table and ring up any bar drinks before presenting voucher to cashier! the cashier will ring up timeshare buffets with gratuity and apply the voucher. if no bar drinks no bill. if there are guests in the party that do not have a voucher, they are charged normal price

what happens if you lose a credit card voucher

the cashier must recreate a new voucher and you will not receive a tip bc there is no proof of what the customer left as a tip. also, if the guest disputes the charge, we have no signature to prove they made the purchase, and serve pays for check.

what is the rule regarding late tables

you are required to say your greeting to tables that are seated within 30 min of closing time with "that since it is near closing time, the kitchen will not be overfilling the buffet pans as normal so food will not be wasted, but if there is something they see that needs replenishing we will be happy to prepare items fresh and bring them to you"

at the end of a shift, what do you do with extra tea and coffee and lemons

dont just dump it out. put lemons in cooler/consolidate with other lemons cut that day.

what closing duties can you do while guest are in dinning room still

after wait station is cleaned and restocked...you may then wipe down chairs, remove all caddies and shakers and bring them to station for filling and cleaning. after guest are gone everything must be swept into a dustpan. no end of table scrubbing until all guest in room have left.

at the end of the evening when you need to set table, where do you get siilver rollups and plates

silver rollups from shelves near the kitchen where they are stored in bus tubs. get plates from kitchen. never use plates and rollups that are located at the busser stations

what is the first thing you are supposed to clean once your dinning room has been cut

after transferring lemons and tea/coffee to open stations you are to clean and restock the wait station, bring all items to kitchen that need to be run through the dish machine.

what is the first and second thing you do when any guest leaves the building after we close

1) check all front doors, confirm that all 4 doors are locked. secure front doors after every party exits after closing time. 2) 2 min deadline to buss table and bring items to dish. if last table cashout/claim tips asap
