A standard Internet protocol providing a simple way of
transferring files between computers using the Internet, (by a process which bunches the data
into packages and sends messages back and forth to say each package has been received.)

Definition of Feasibility Report.
The summary of an initial investigation to look at the likelihood of being able to create a new

data as well as other related data. If the system is working properly the data will be correct at
each stage and is said to be consistent.
Definition of Data Redundancy.
Data redundancy is where you store an item of data more than once.
A company may hold its data in different files. This is wasteful because some data may need to
be input twice and if data is changed in one it will need to be changed in the other.
Data which is repeated unnecessarily is called redundant data.
Definition of Data Integrity.
The correctness/truth/accuracy of the data.
Definition of Data Independence.
Data and the applications/programs used to access it are independent/separate
Definition of Data Warehouse.

An organised collection of people, procedures

A distributed database has data stored on a number of computers at different locations
but appears as one logical database.
Definition of Web Crawler.
Continually searches the web looking for new pages and recording information they find which browses the web and keeps an index of what it
finds.

‘Bugs' which may not have been identified during the testing process become apparent when the system is operating in a live environment.
Definition of Perfective Maintenance.
Users may, after a period of time find a particular aspect of the software
unsatisfactory e.g. tables may be difficult to format for printing.
OR
A security issue e.g. a virus threat may emerge which means that the
system requires an extra level of protection.
Definition of Adaptive Maintenance.
Changes in the business environment e.g. change in legislation may mean
that the software is required to perform tasks it wasn't originally designed for.
OR
New software or hardware may be purchased the integration of which requires
changes to existing systems e.g. purchase of new printers with incompatible
drivers.
