Evolution (pg. )
*Definition-A process in which something passes by degrees to a different stage, or the historical development of a biological group. Evolution is any process of formation or growth. *Analysis- Through the course of time, this process results in the origin of new species from existing ones. The more evolved species is more adapted to its enviroment then its ancestors and is usually smarter,stronger, more sufficient.
Australopithecus (pg. )
*Definition- An extinct species of small-brained,large-toothed bipedal hominids that lived in Africa between one to four million years ago.
*Analysis- This species was one of the earliest human related species on earth particularly in africa.
Homo Erectus (pg. )
*Definition- Is a member of an extinct species of human being;an ancestor of modern man. Probably a primitive hominid with upright stature.
*Analysis- This early man probly paved the way for modern man and was one of the first beings to use tools.
Homo Sapiens (pg. )
*Definition- The species of bipedal primates to which modern humans belong, characterized by brain capacity, language and utilization of tools.
*Analysis- Humans have a highly developed brain capable of abstract reasoning, language and introspection. This, combined with an erect body has allowed humans to make greater use of tools than any other species.
Paleolithic (pg. )
*Definition- Of or relating to the cultural period of the Stone Age beginning with the earliest chipped stone tools, about 750,000 years ago, until the beginning of the Mesolithic Age, about 15,000 years ago.
*Analysis- as the first period in the development of human technology of the Stone Age. It began with the introduction of the first stone tools by hominids and lasted until the introduction of agriculture.
Neolithic (pg. )
*Definition- Was a period in the development of human technology that is traditionally the last part of the Stone Age.
*Analysis-It was followed in some places by the Bronze Age and more generally by the Iron Age. The period of the Stone Age associated with the ancient Agricultural Revolution. It follows the Paleolithic period.

*Definition-Venus figurines is an umbrella term for a number of prehistoric items.
*Analysis-They are among the oldest ceramics known. Like many such artifacts, their true cultural meaning may never be known; however, given that at the time of their construction human society would not have the same tendency towards obesity as it has today
Agricultural revolution-(pg. )
*Definition-The change from food gathering to food production that occurred between ca. 8000 and 2000 B.C.E.
*Analysis- This revolution was the first time in known human history that people were able to stop hunting and gathering and start learining agriculture.
Slash-and-burn (pg. )
*Definition- Is a agricultural procedure widely used in forested areas it is a specific functional element of certain farming practises.
*Analysis- This method was very useful to the ancients and allowed them to clear an area for farming land.
Catal Huyuk (pg. )
*Definition- It was a very large Neolithic settlement. in southern Anatolia, dating from around 7500 BCE for the lowest layers. It is perhaps the largest and most sophisticated Neolithic site yet uncovered.
*Analysis- This site allows us to understand the ways they lived and shows how they could live in larger populations.
Jericho- (pg. )
*Definition-Jericho was occupied during Neolithic 2 age and the general character of the remains on the site link it culturally with Neolithic sites in the West Syrian and Middle Euphrates groups.
*Analysis- This city shows the fact that even during the newolithic ages mankind was evolving and migrating.
