-good ability to understand written words
-some ability to read aloud
Press of speech:
-inability to self-monitor
-does not grasp listener's not understanding
-quick impulsive responding
patient listens to a word spoken & orally says it w/ the result of comprehension of the word
Purpose of TWA:
-if client can repeat he may understand it
-uses intact reading ability for representing stimulus words
Process of TWA:
1. establish baseline of words
2. match printed word to picture
3. read word aloud
4. repeat w/ picture present
5. select the picture upon hearing it
