Sudden wkns & eventual atrophy of musc. after acute infection w/ high fvr, thirst & SOB.
Limbs on 1 or both sides fixed, esp in lwr body.
Wkns, poss motor impairment or paralysis.
Poss irrit. Dry cough or skin.
Scanty urine. Constip.
Dx: svr infect, polio. Not usu seen in clinic.
T: very red + scanty yellowish ct
P: rapid, thready

Oftern seen in hot, humid envir w/ acute infect.
Can be seen when viruses indc auto-immune reaction.
