Absolute Link

A link that includes the complete path name in the URL. Used for linking Web sites that are external to your site.

A connection between pages in the same file or different files


Named Anchor

A named location in a Web page that is used for links on the same page. Sometimes also referred to as a bookmark.

Relative Link

A link set within a specific site that does not include the domain name


Ex: ../yoursite/file.html

Broken Link

A link to a page that is not available in the site because it has been deleted, renamed, or not yet created

Child Page

A subordinate page that links to a first-level page (like a home page)



Parent Page

A first-level page to which other subordinate pages (also called child pages) are linked

A feature that allows you to preview various types of content on simulated mobile devices
