What are the two main types of waves discussed in class?
The two main types are transverse and compressional.
What type of waves are light waves and what medium do they travel fastest through?
Tranverse waves; and space.
What type of wave is a sound wave and what type of medium does it travel fastest through?
Compressional wave; solid then liquid then gas.
Explain what happens to the wavelength when you increase the frequency of a tranverse wave.
The wavelength decreases, as the frequency increases, because the more waves that pass through a fixed point, the less distance between the waves.
Explain what happens to the speed of a wave when you increase its frequency.
When you increase the frequency of a wave, the speed goes up, because the the wavelength of the wave decreases.
