The Drainage Basin

The catchment area for a river to collect water.

Watershed

Normally a mountain and if it falls to the side nearer the river it will end up in the river and if it lands on the other side it will flow away.

Tributary

A small river or stream that joins the main river.

Confluence

Where two rivers meet.
