Melody

Is a succession of singal pitches (notes/tunes ).

Range

Is the distance either being narrow, wide, or medium between the lowest and highest notes (singal pitches).

Contour

The overall shape as the melody goes up (high), down (low) or static (leveled). It can be ascending or descending lines, arch or wave.

Interval

The distance between any two pitches (notes).

Conjunct

Are the melodies that moved principally by small connected or joined intervals (distance between two pitches).

Disjunct

Are the melodies that move in a larger disconnected intervals ( distance between two pitches).

Phrase

The units (structure/series) that make up a melody.

Cadence

Is a resting place where a phrase ends (as a period in a sentence). It may give the impression that there is more or it is final. Also, it is where a singer or instrument pauses for a breath.

Rhyme Scheme

The arrangement of rhyming coressponding sounds (the last syllables in each line rhyme).

Frequency

The number of vibrations per second in a pitch (note).

Duration

The length of time of the pitch (note).

A musical sound that has a certain loudness or softness.

Tone Color / Timbre

The quality of a sound that distinguishes one's own voice or instrument from another.

Climax

The highpoint in a melodic line, which represents a peak in intensity and range.
