1. Archipelago
|
A group of islands

A deep gorge, usually with a river flowing through it to indent the terrain

7. Continental Divide
|
This is a drainage divide, where some extra water flows one way of the divide, and some extra water goes the other way of the divide.

8. Delta
|
A larger river that divides it’s water to smaller rivers, and eventually ends up in a larger body of water.

9. Desert
|
A barren area of land with little life, water, or vegetation.

10. Gulf
|
This is much like a bay, in the way of the sea going in towards the land, but a gulf is much bigger

11. Hemisphere
|
A hemisphere is half of a sphere, in this case separating the earth into four hemispheres (north, south, west, and east).

|
This is a part of that land that raises higher than the rest, but is not big enough to be considered a mountain.

|
An island is just land surrounded by water on every side.
|
|
14. Isthmus
|
A small strip of land that connects two larger bits of land, that are surrounded by water.

15. Lake
|
A body of water, that is usually freshwater, opposed to ocean and sea salt water.

16. Marsh
|
A marsh is where dry land and wetlands collide, making a partially under-water body of land, usually very muddy.

17. Mountain
|
A large peak, that surrounds the land around the area.
|
|
18. Peninsula
|
A piece of land that is connected to mainland, but still bordered by water on three sides.
|
|
19. Plains
|
A low and flat piece of land, usually also pretty vast.
|

20. Plateau
|
An area of high ground/a place where the earth is raised
|
|
21. River
|
Flowing, fresh water that usually connects to a larger body of water.
|
|
22. Sound
|
A water inlet larger than a bay or a gulf.
|
|
23. Strait
|
A thin strip of water that connects two larger bodies of water.
|
|
24. Tributary
|
A river/stream that flows into a larger body of water.
|
|
25. Valley
|
A low place between two mountains.
|
|
26. Volcano
|
This is a mountain, with lava in it. These are very dangerous and cause lots of natural disasters.

27. Fall Line
|
A thin line that marks of geographical boundaries
|
|
28. Cave
|
A natural hole in the side of a mountain, or in rock.
|
|
29. Fault
|
A crack in the earth’s crust.
|
|
30. Glacier
|
A huge chunk of ice.
|
