Pronoun
A word that can take the place of a noun.
Ex. She, he, it.
Noun
A person, place, or thing.
Ex. Girl, school, fork
Proper Noun
A particular person, place, or thing.
Ex. Ms. Streeter, Greenville Elementary School, Cappy
Capitalization
When you make letters capitals. You capitalize people's names, particular places and things, days, and months.
Punctuation
When you end your sentences, questions, and exclamations with the right marks.
Fact
Something that can be proven true.
Opinion
Someone's thoughts and feelings about something. This cannot be proven true.
Syllables
The parts of a word.
Vowels
A, E, I, O, and U
Consonants
All letters besides A, E, I, O and U.
Verb
An action word. Ex. run, jump, eat.
Author
Someone who writes something.
Passage
The section of a story you are reading.
