Analysis of Variance (ANVOA)
compares the mean values of 3 diff populations; may be performed using one or two variables
Chi square test
not a parametric statistical test but a categorical test; can only be used if both the dependent and independent variables are categorical and not numerical in nature;

ex) race - no numerical data (as opposed to age, which is numerical)
dependent t-test
used to analyze the mean of one group at two different times
independent t-test
used to analyze the mean in two groups at one time
Wilcoxon's test
not a parametric test (which assumes a normal distribution of data around a mean)

used when distributions are abnormal, as occurs with unknown confounders, systematic error,s mall sample size or true coicident error
t test; "mr. T is mean"
checks difference between the means of 2 groups
ANOVA (ANalysis Of VAriance)
checks the difference between the means of 3 or more groups
X^2 test
checks between 2 or mroe percentages of proportions of categorical outcomes (NOT mean values)

compares percentages (%) or proportions
