Texas wanted to practice slavery, but it was banned under Mexican law. Also wanted freedom of religion.
What did the Great Compromise (1787) settle a dispute over after the Revolutionary War?
The debate between large states and small states concerning Congress. Large states wanted population based = House of Representatives (lower house). Small states wanted set number of representatives per state = Senate (upper house). Created "2 Houses" and the idea was from Edmund Randolph.

They provided emergency relief to people displaced by the war and they focused on EDUCATION and helping freedmen.

Describe what the Industrial Revolution was, where it originally began, and what Francis Lowell did in regards to it.
The Industrial Revolution was a time period of technological advances such as steam engines, interchangeable parts, and railroads. Factory system is created in the Industrial Revolution and it increases production massively. Manifest Destiny was also going on around this time period. The Industrial Revolution began in England, and then an English man (Sam Slater) immigrated to America and brought these ideas over. Francis Lowell created the 1st mill, which combined spinning and weaving, and he mostly hired women and children.
Why did the Irish and Germans migrate to the United States in the 1800's?
Irish: escaping famine

German: fleeing failed revolutions
