What is the definition and equation for momentum?

Momentum = mass* velocity or p = mv

State Newtons three laws of motion.

1) A body continues in it’s state of rest or linear motion unless acted upon by an external force

2) When a force acts on a body, the force is proportional to it’s rate of change of linear momentum (F = ma).

Why is the current in a motor much less than you would expect if it is turning fast?

The back emf opposes the driving voltage and lowers it’s value. The resistance of the coil is still the same so the current also decreases.

What is a transformer?

Why is electricity distributed at high voltage?

If the voltage is high, the current is low, so this minimises loss due to heating.
