Congress of Vienna

A meeting of 5 individuals from different European states who practically take control of Europe. In the Congress, only France and England were nationalized. They wanted to enforce conservatism in order to keep order in Europe. The leader was Metternich.

Metternich

He was an Austrian prince and the leader of the Congress of Vienna. He wanted to krep down the forces of change and strengthen the forces of order.

Principal of Intervention

Established by Metternich. States that great powers of Europe had the right to send armies into countries that were revolutionising to restore legitimate monarchs
Concert of Europe
Created by European powers fearing revolution and war. Out of it came the quadruple alliance between Great Britain, Austria, Prussia and Russia that stopped the restoration of Bonapartist power.

Conservatism

Return to old values of religion and nobility, anti civil liberties (community over individual), stability fight nationalism

he was a white in Spanish person born in Latin America, leads the revolution to kick Spain out of Latin American. Continental powers wanted to put down the rebellion but US says no because they wanted to trade witb Latin America. Britain enforces it by threatening continental Europe with its large skilled navy

a liberal constitutional monarchy in France under Louis Philippe I starting with the July Revolution of 1830 (also known as the Three Glorious Days) and ending with the Revolution of 1848.

Decembrists Uprising

Uprisings that occurred in Russia. Liberals among Russian eliet didn't want Nichocholas I, they wanted Constantine so they rebelled. The rebellion fails and Nicholas becomes more strict and conservative.

It looks like conservatism wins but conservative rulers would have to give ground to stay in power. Nationalism is something that the rulers had to listen to. If they adopt it, nationalism be used against liberalism and nationalism.
